The EPLRT-50-12.3-HR Explosion Proof Cord Reel w/ Tool Tap provides 20 amps of continual service and easy management of an included 50` of 12/3 SOOW cord, giving operators in hazardous locations the ability to easily extend the working reach of their tools and lighting equipment. This tool tap is built to UL 508 table 36.1 / NEC standards and constructed of aluminum and fabricated steel for light weight and durability. This cord reel with tool tap is ideal for petroleum facilities, waste water treatment plants, grain storage and handling silos, paint booths, underground mines, chemical plants, and much more.

This explosion proof tool tap is rated for Class I Division 1 and Class II Division 2 environments and includes the reel, 50` of 12/3 SOOW cord, and a Class I Division 1 twist lock receptacle. For proper protection and to maintain HAZLOC approval, a matching twist lock plug should be used with this unit`s power receptacle. This unit is of a modular design and is suitable for indoor or outdoor applications.

The unit includes 50` of 12/3 SOOW Cord with a 14″ flange diameter and is ready to install a portable explosion proof fixture to the end. These reels are built with modular components, coupled with a spark proof ratchet and hazardous location slip ring housing. The cord feeds onto the steel reel assembly through a 4 roller adjustable cable guide with a ball stop. This reel includes an integral spring actuated ratcheting mechanism for positive cord management housed within the explosion proof threaded slip ring enclosure. This cord reel is assembled to UL 508 table 36.1 / NEC Standards and conforms to NEMA 9 and NEMA 4 (IP56) standards as well.

This 20 amp rated tool tap is ideal for operators seeking a high quality, wet area rated power receptacle suitable for use in industrial and manufacturing applications. This unit`s power receptacle is constructed of copper free aluminum and the housing is malleable iron. The unit is factory sealed and any arcing is safely contained within the interior of the receptacle. The receptacle is configured for use with 125V (5-20R) or 250V (6-20R) explosion proof cord caps.

The receptacle contacts are deep recessed to avoid accidental contact and will not be energized by non explosion proof plugs to preserve explosion proof protection in hazardous environments. Ordinary location plugs will NOT activate this explosion proof receptacle. The iron housing is finished in a triple-coat zinc electroplate, chromate and epoxy powder coat while the receptacle is finished with an epoxy powder coat. This unit is designed to withstand wet and corrosive conditions such as those found in docks and shipyards and comes with a spring loaded receptacle door to prevent ingress of water and contaminants when the unit is not in use. An EYM seal off completes the Class 1 Division 1 rating on this explosion proof tool tap.
