The Larson Electronics EXP-PTM.10K-2W Explosion Proof Rotary Potentiometer is designed for use in Class I Division 1 & 2 Groups C & D, Class II Division 1 & 2 Groups E, F and G and Class III facilities. This unit features 10k ohm resistance and is rated 2 watts @ 30V DC. Constructed of copper-free aluminum, the variable resistor device can be used for voltage measurement, volume control, radio control, adjustable voltage divider or as a rheostat.

The EXP-PTM.10K-2W is ideal for operators seeking a high quality explosion proof potentiometer rated for use in hazardous areas under Class I Division 1 & Class 2 Groups C & D, Class II Division 1 & 2 Groups E, F and G and Class III environments. This unit is rated at 2 watts, operating at 30V DC. During use, the device provides 10k ohm resistance. In automotive controls, potenimeters are used to support vehicle steering systems.

As a manually adjustable variable resistor, the unit can be used as a voltage divider (3 pins) or rheostat (2 pins). Operators may utilize the device to measure the potential of an electric voltage. This unit is constructed of copper-free cast aluminum for superior performance and durability. These explosion proof pontentiometers are not factory sealed and require external sealing fittings. The EXP-PTM.10K-2W can be easily wall mounted via integral mounting tabs at two corners of the housing. Two external mounting lugs provide simple and secure mounting to walls and flat surafces. This unit is available with either 1/2″ or 3/4″ NPT tapped hubs. The conduit openings are provided on the top and bottom of the unit in feed through versions while dead end versions have a single conduit hub, providing easy and secure connection to main power line supplies.
